The statement teapot
Art Deco meets Asian elegance in the Silver Lining Teapot. Evoking the harmony of traditional tea ceremonies in elegant, modern lines, it’s made from durable, heat-resistant borosilicate glass with a bentwood beech handle. A unique design that will elevate your tea experience to a luxurious new level.
This 2-3-cup-capacity teapot is designed to expertly and effortlessly brew loose-leaf teas. The wide opening at the top and the movable handle make it easy to pour the desired quantity of leaves and the water. The built-in strainer at the bottom of the spout effectively filters the leaves*, producing a pristine cup.
The beech handle holds the lid in place, so there’s no need to hold it down as you serve. The steam outlet on the side of the teapot ensures the tea can be poured comfortably.
User tip: Ensure that you lower the handle before removing the lid. If the handle becomes looser over time, it can be tightened up.
How to pour and care for your teapotClose
How to pour tea without dripping
This teapot is made by hand, so the rim and lid may not be perfectly flush. We recommend that you turn the lid until it sits snugly on top.
Due to the design of the Silver Lining Glass Teapot, particularly the shape and design of the lid, please follow these simple tips to achieve a smooth pour:
• Do not fill over the usable capacity (600ml).
• Tip the teapot gently at a 45-degree angle when pouring. This is to prevent the liquid from reaching the edge of the teapot, which may lead to some dripping.
Caring for your teapot
Borosilicate glass is made mainly of silica (70-80%) and boric oxide (7-13%), with smaller amounts of alkalis (sodium and potassium oxides) and aluminium oxide. Used in cookware and chemistry labs, it’s renowned for its resistance to thermal shock. However, as a glass product, a certain amount of care still needs to be taken:
• If the ambient temperature in your kitchen is low, warming up your Silver Lining Glass Teapot before use will help it last longer. The glass is less likely to break or shatter if you warm it up gradually; this will also help the tea to steep more effectively as the water won’t lose heat when poured into the teapot.
• Once you have poured in the hot water, avoid resting the teapot on cold surfaces. Rest it on a trivet or kitchen towel instead.
• To clean your teapot, we advise rinsing with hot water and cleaning gently with a soft sponge.
*Please note that some very fine leaves may go through the strainer.
